Preview: The story of Adam and Eve, their great mistake, and its consequences. This is the first part of a two-part lesson on this subject.

Scripture Heading: Genesis 3:1-15.

Memory Verse: Genesis 3:3.

1. Where did God place man after He created him? Genesis 2:8.
2. What description of the garden do we find in the Scriptures? Genesis 2:9.
3. What nourished the garden? Genesis 2:10-14.
4. What was Adam and Eve’s purpose in this garden? Genesis 2:15.
Note: God never intended for man to be idle. There was a duty for man in the Garden of Eden, and there is a duty for all mankind today.
5. How was the garden watered and refreshed before God made man? Genesis 2:6.
6. What could Adam and Eve eat? Genesis 2:16.
7. What were the restrictions Adam and Eve had in the garden? Genesis 2:17 (first part).
8. What would happen if they disobeyed God? Genesis 2:17 (last part).
9. Who was the first to disobey God’s command? Genesis 3:6.
10. What creature did the Devil use when he tempted them? Genesis 3:1-4.
Note: Adam and Eve yielded to the Devil's temptation. The adversary is still in the tempting business today. He is offering many priceless things to the human family. We need the Spirit of God to help us resist rather than accept his bargains.
11. Did the deceiver make a promise to the first man and his wife? If so, what was it? Genesis 3:5.
12. What happened after they transgressed? Genesis 3:7.
Note: The Deceiver never tells the full truth when he talks with mankind. He is a liar and the father of lies. He disappointed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Those who accept his doctrine today are sure to be disappointed in the Day of Judgment.
