Preview: The book of Revelation was given to God’s children as a key to the events of the end times, and a warning to always be prepared for the coming of the Lord.

Scripture Reading: Revelation 1:1-10.

Memory Verse: Revelation 22:18.

1. Who inspired the Book of Revelation, who wrote it down, and for whom is it intended? Revelation 1:1.
2. By whom is this record given? Revelation 1:1 (last part) & Revelation 1:2.
3. What was told to John about sealing the Book of Revelation? Revelation 22:10.
Note: A revelation is something revealed; something clearly made known. The Lord has given this Revelation to His servants only.
4. What is the special promise upon those who will read and follow (heed) it? Revelation 1:3.
5. On what day of the week was the Book of Revelation given to John? Revelation 1:10.
6. What day of the week is the Lord’s day? Exodus 20:10.
7. Jesus is the Lord of what day? Mark 2:27-28.
8. To whom was this revelation given? Revelation 3:13.
9. What is the remedy for those who cannot understand the importance of this Book? Revelation 3:17-18.
10. What is the danger for those who will add to this Book? Revelation 22:18.
11. What is the danger to those who will take away part of the Book? Revelation 22:19.
12. Did the disciples write all the acts of Jesus? John 20:30.
13. Why didn’t they write every deed of Christ? John 21:25.
Note: It is a mystery why the Book of Revelation is neglected. It is the testimony of Jesus. He has pronounced a blessing on those who will read it and heed it. He has warned against those who will add to it and take away from it. It is the only book that came from Heaven after Jesus ascended.
14. Is the Book of Revelation given in figurative or literal language? Revelation 1:1.
Note: Many Bible students will say the Book of Revelation is all figurative. It is given in symbols, but those symbols are simple and easily understood by those who are led by the Spirit of God. It is partly literal and partly figurative, as will be proven later.
15. What city did John see coming down? Revelation 21:2.
16. Of what material was the city made? Revelation 21:11.
17. How many gates did the city have? Revelation 21:12-13.
18. Of what is the foundation composed? Revelation 21:14 & Revelation 21:19-20.
Note: A question- is it a literal city or a symbolic one? Does it mean something or nothing?
19. Was Abraham looking for a literal or figurative city? Hebrews 11:8-10.
20. Did Moses recognize the Heavenly Jerusalem as a literal city or a symbolic one? Hebrews 12:21-22.
Note: The previous Scriptures have proven Jerusalem is a literal city and that part of the Revelation is literal.
