God's Message to the Church: Part 1 of 2

Preview: The intent of this lesson is to make us aware that we need to be ever vigilant in our service to the Lord. Simply showing up for Church is not enough. We have a duty to God that can only be fulfilled through our loyal and heartfelt service and devotion to His Commandments. This is the first part of a two-part lesson on this subject.


Scripture Reading: Ephesians 5:14-26. 

Memory Verse: Ephesians 5:14. 

1. How did Paul appeal to the sleepers in the Ephesian Church? Ephesians 5:14. 
Note: Keep this in mind that Paul found the members of the Ephesian Church unconcerned and sleeping in their spiritual duties to Christ. 
2. How were some of the members walking? Ephesians 5:15. 
3. Why should they redeem the time? Ephesians 5:16. 
4. How are we to be in the things of God? Ephesians 5:17. 
5. How should we be filled? Ephesians 5:18. 
6. When should we give thanks? Ephesians 5:20. 
7. Why should we be submissive one to the other? Ephesians 5:21. 
8. How should women be to their own husbands? Ephesians 5:22. 
9. How should husbands act toward their own wives? Ephesians 5:25. 
Note: Surely the women and the men both came short of loving their own companions. 
10. Why should husbands give more attention to their wives than their parents? Ephesians 5:31. 
11. Why was this a mystery to the Church people? Ephesians 5:32. 
12. How did Paul further refer to the married couples as to how they should love one another? Ephesians 5:33. 
Note: Surely the married people were guilty of loving those that were not their own. 
13. Who were they not to fellowship with? Ephesians 5:11.
