Preview: The intent of this lesson is to point out the importance of Christian stamina. In this age when every standard is being attacked we should not forget that He has told us to be resolute; always conforming to the standard of right.

Scripture Reading: Joshua 1:1-9.

Memory Verse: I Corinthians 16:13.

1. What is the first thing we should add to our faith? II Peter 1:5 (first part).
Note: Webster defines virtue as conformity to a standard of right: Morality. Virtue is translated also from a root word meaning manliness. Bold, resolute.
2. Why were the Jewish leaders impressed by Peter and John? Acts 4:13.
3. For what did the disciples pray? Acts 4:29.
4. To what did Jesus liken a man who heard and obeyed Him? Matthew 7:24.
Note: The servants of God in days gone by spoke and lived the truth even when to do so meant the risk of their lives. Today we find Church members conforming to the world to avoid criticism. The world is in dire need today of men who will speak and live the truth.
5. What should be our attitude toward all mankind? Matthew 7:12.
Note: When we hear the word virtue used today we usually think of sexual purity. That is one aspect of virtue, but it covers much more. The way we act or react under all circumstances reveals what our moral principle is. Those who follow Christ must use the Word as their standard.
6. What are some of the characteristics we must have? I Thessalonians 4:11-12.
7. What should we be to others? In what ways? I Timothy 4:12.
8. What further warning do we have? I Timothy 4:16.
9. What should be our attitude? Hebrews 13:6.
